About Me

Frank Chu, BBA, MSW, RSW, CHRL (he/him), is a first-generation Chinese Canadian who has called Toronto home for over 20 years. Originally from Hong Kong, he moved to Canada in Grade 10 and has since dedicated his career to serving newcomers, children and youth, adult learners, and families—as both a front-line social worker and an administrator.

With experience across school boards, community agencies, and a national non-profit organization, Frank has worked primarily in Toronto and Oakland, California. Deeply committed to community service, he also served as a relief foster parent for over a decade, supporting youth in treatment homes with complex needs.

Frank has also been active in the democratic process. In 2022, he ran for school board trustee and provincial parliament in Toronto, and again sought provincial office in 2025. While not elected, he earned thousands of votes and connected with many residents through grassroots outreach—demonstrating strong public engagement and a deep commitment to community leadership and public education.

Frank holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Social Work from York University. He also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business and is a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

Frank is married to Maria, a financial professional at a major bank. Together, they have a daughter in elementary school who keeps their lives joyful and busy.
